Should be a 5V reference on one wire(violet & white) and a ground (black and white)on another with one final wire feeding a sensor voltage back to the PCM.(dark green and red) Auto parts : Pin Extraction Tool Acura 1995 . Eagle . How to Remove an Upper Ball Joint on TrucksReplacing the upper ball joints in your truck can be a tough experience if you don't know what you are doing. With a little direction, some basic tools and a general understanding of the front end on your truck, you can save time and money by replacing the upper ball joint yourself. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Step by Step : 1 Secure the front end of the truck by properly lifting it with a floor jack and placing the jack stands underneath the center of the front end of the vehicle. Don't place them under the control arms, as you will be working in this area. 2 Remove the wheel by breaking loose all the lug nuts first, then removing them and lifting the wheel off. Set these aside and put the lug nuts in a safe and flat place such as on a magnetic tray that will help prevent them from getting lost. 3 Slip a pickle fork between the spindle and the ball joint and hammer it into place. The hammering will break the seal the ball joint forms with the tension it causes on itself. Then place the pickle fork into the seal and continue hammering. The goal is to break the mechanical weld. This may take some considerable hammering. 4 Move on to indexing and removing the upper control arms. This will carry you along through the disassembly process of removing the upper ball joint and on your way to installing the new upper ball joint.
Eagle . How to Install a Truck's SpindleInstalling the truck spindle's after you have serviced your ball joints is a key part of the process. Maintenance and repairing your vehicle yourself can save you time, money and the hassle of being without a vehicle. Plus, you will have the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Step by Step : 1 Double check the work you did on the ball joints to make sure the job is complete and everything is re-installed, thus far, correctly and tightly. Next, you are going to re-install the spindle. The spindle is part of the front end assembly. 2 Seat the spindle on the lower ball joint. Be careful not to bang it around or it will damage the threads. Place it in the hole, then raise the control arm to align the holes. You should be able to wiggle it into place. If you are unable to get the spindle in place, check to see that the control arm is where it's supposed to be. 3 Screw the mounting nuts in place. You want to hand screw each of them in before tightening either one of them down. This is to make sure they are lined up correctly; if they aren't, you can break the mounting nut and this can be costly. 4 Tighten the nuts down to the torque specifications in your vehicle's repair manual. If you can't find this information, contact a local mechanic or auto parts store to find out the specifications. It is important to follow these guidelines for the safety of the vehicle. *5. Slide the castellated nut or nut-lock-and-nut combination off the spindle. If it's greasy, wipe it off with a lint-free rag and lay it on the rag next to the cotter pin. 6. Grab the brake drum and pull it toward you, but do not slide the drum off the spindle yet; then push the drum back into place. The things that are left on the spindle are the outer wheel bearings and washer. 2 7^ Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System 832

Whether or not you want to repack your wheel bearings, check them now by following the instructions for inspecting and checking wheel bearings in the section called "Checking and Packing Wheel Bearings," later in this chapter. Then come back here and resume with Step 9. As long as you're removing your bearings, you should check them for wear. If they're "packable," it's a good idea to repack them while you have everything apart. (All this task involves is squishing wheel-bearing grease into them, a wonderfully sensual job.) 9. Carefully slide the drum off the spindle, with the inner bearings inside it. Inhaling brake dust can make you seriously ill. For safety's sake, never attempt to blow away the dust with compressed air. Instead, saturate the dust completely by spraying the drum with brake parts cleaner according to the instructions on the can. Wipe the drum clean with a rag; then place the rag in a plastic bag and dispose of it immediately. Eagle . Can a mini electrical car work on walls?
Scion xB. * 10. Take a look at the inside of the drum. You can probably see grooves on the inner walls from wear. If these grooves look unusually deep, or if you see hard spots or burned places, ask your service facility to let you watch while they check out the drums with a micrometer (see Figure 18-5). If the drums aren't worn past legal tolerances (0.060 of an inch), they can be reground (or turned) rather than replaced. A special machine called a brake-lathe does this job in a relatively short amount of time. It shouldn't be a major job in terms of expense. You could do it yourself at a school auto shop; most classes have the machine. Eagle . What is the stronger car in the world?

These are much cheaper than new ones and should be just as good, if checking with a micrometer shows that they are not too worn. If your facility can't find you one, call a couple of places listed under "Automobiles-wrecking" in the Yellow Pages and ask for used drums in good condition for your vehicle's make, model, and year. .Chapter 18: Being a Buddy to Your Brakes and Bearings 37 7 Figure 18-5: Checking drum wear with a micrometer. Make sure that the drums look exactly the same as your old ones, and don't forget to specify drums for front or rear wheels. Brake drums must be replaced with drums of the same size for even braking performance. Have a professional install them for you, because the brake shoes must be adjusted to fit. Eagle .
